Permit Service
This service provides the tools for creating, pricing, and issuing permits.
Permit Numbers
Number management is a critical feature because permit numbers often correspond to pre-printed permits or AVI/RFID tags that have their number assigned in advance. Number management options include: bulk upload of pre-defined numbers, auto-generation of numbers, out of sequence number issuing. Our system enables flexible operations as well as secure handling of the number inventory. This flexibility is very important when exceptions occur. For example, when a pre-printed permit is inadvertently secured to vehicle "out of order" our system allows the operator the skip ahead to the correct permit number when issuing the permit. Or, if a hand-written permit must be issued the operator can add a temporary number to the system.
Permit Types
Permit Types are created for each kind of permit in your system. Each Permit Type will be given a useful name, such as, Limousine Monthly, Taxi Per-Use, and the like. Then a parent class, such as, Vehicles, or Accounts, will be selected. The Permit Type parent class defines the kind of objects permits of the type can be linked/assigned to. Next, a number inventory and a payment/charge method will be assigned. As soon as the new Permit Type is activated permits may be issued against it.
Payment/Charge Methods
When a Permit Type is created the operator will select how permits are charged, either Rate Plan, or a fixed fee amount is chosen. In addition, the billing method will be set. Billing methods include, pay-as-you-go (with credit card), account billing, or pre-paid. The GL Account where permit revenue is recorded is assigned at this time as well.
Reports
The Permit Service supports our standard List Report system for generating ad hoc reports. Dedicated reports that show Permits that are near their expiration date are also provided.
